Iced Double Chocolate Fudge Brownies

These are by far the best homemade brownies I have ever tasted and I've definitely eaten my fair share of brownies, being a chronic chocoholic and all! Quick and simple to make and great for a decadent Valentines Day dessert or for taking into the office lunch shout to impress the boss, these rich chocolatey beauties are bound to be a hit...

The Best Iced-Double-Chocolate-Fudge Brownie Ever
Photos by me, courtesy of my brand new Camera! :)
I still don't know how to use it properly and got into quite a panic because the
ice cream was melting fast, so I'm really glad these shots came out okay! Phew.
Brownie Ingredients:

250 grams chocolate chips
2 cups caster sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla essence
3/4 c flour
1/4 c self raising flour
1/2 c cocoa
extra 250 grams chocolate chips, chopped

Preheat oven to 160C. Line a 20 x 30cm sponge roll tin. Melt the first measure of chocolate. Beat sugar, eggs and vanilla in food processor or with a hand held mixer. Add melted chocolate, flours and cocoa. Stir in the extra chopped chocolate. Pour into prepared tin. Bake for 50 mins or until skewer inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool in the tin for approx 10 mins and turn onto airing tray. Ice once completely cool.

Chocolate Buttercream Icing Ingredients:

6 Tbs butter or butter substitute
1 c caster sugar
4 Tbs cocoa
2 Tbs milk

Cream the butter. Combine sugar and cocoa. Add sugar and cocoa mixture to butter. Add milk to to butter mixture. If mixture is too thick add another tablespoon of milk to get the right spreadable consistency. Smooth over the top of the brownie with a spatula. Cut into slices and serve - then try not to eat them all at once! ;)

These Iced Double Choc Fudge Brownies are extremely more-ish so consider yourself warned. My naughty husband keeps requesting them so my poor waistline hasn't much hope this year, I need to take the dogs walking more often I think to avoid the dreaded 'Brownie spare tyre'!!

Hmm, is it wrong that my last post featured a long and lean supermodel and I'm now discussing chocolatey desserts?! Oh well we can't all be supermodels, we can eat chocolate desserts whenever we like instead, which is way better in my books!! hehe

Anyway, have a lovely day girls, I should hopefully have some of our holiday photos ready to share by the weekend, I can't wait to show you what we've been upto!

Versace Spring Campaign 2012

Loving the new Spring campaign from Versace! The 'under the sea' prints and jewels are fabulous! Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is the face of their campaign this season and looks as gorgeously aristocratic as ever in embellished evening gowns, platform heels, metallic cuffs, mini skirts, jackets and bandeau's. Versace is always bling-tastic just like Donatella herself and Spring 2012 is looking bright, bold and sexy with buckets of seaside styling...

This embellished aqua gown is amazing!

Metallic cuffs and studded 'belt' detail add toughness to this look...

Fringed skirt with starfish print...

Quirky mermaid embellished skirt and bandeau...

High waisted shorts and studded bags are in for Spring...

Love the starfish ring and chunky bracelets!

Such a beautiful and feminine Grecian-inspired gown!

Loving the drape of this printed sundress...

Sky-high lucite heels and bold bags - very Versace!

Love this lemon yellow mini!

On the catwalk...

Blowdry's and natural make up are the perfect accessory to Versace's glam gowns!

What do you think about the new collection? Will you be wearing seaside brights and metallic accessories this Spring  a la' Versace? Or will you opt for the popular classically nautical look that still seems to be going strong in 2012?

I like a little of both and can't wait till these looks hit the shops in Spring, still a while off for us here in NZ!

Tropical in Melbourne

I love seeing a coastal home with a difference and this Melbourne home nestled high up on a hillside amongst native bush definitely fits the bill!

Windows galore give the feeling of living in a tree house and there is no shortage of gorgeous natural light in this stunning home! The stylish owners have brought their own take on tropical Aussie style to their abode with a bit of exotic flair after several years spent living abroad in Bali. I love their take on beach side living and hope you love it too...

The natural light flooding this property is amazing!

Outdoor living at every turn...

How gorgeous is this tree top kitchen??
And those lime washed floors!

Such a welcoming low key living area...

Love the black chandelier!

Plenty of restful white in the bedroom so as not to compete
with the view outside...

Great statement art and lighting...

Blues and greens add tropical flair...

Stunning textiles...

A little touch of Bali in the bathroom...

Living here must be like being on a permanent vacation, gorgeous!

I feel very Zen after checking out these images, so peaceful!
I hope you all have a great Friday, I'll be trying hard to be productive at work today, it's the last day before our holiday and we're soo ready to go now! :)

A Romantic Summer Tablescape

Hi all! I was lucky to be able to share this fresh, summer tablescape over at Between You and Me yesterday but in case you missed it...

With Valentines Day just around the corner and the heat of the summer sun blazing down on us here in the Southern Hemisphere I came up with a pretty summer tablescape inspired by a bouquet of fluffy pink peonies that I picked up from the store on a whim -they were just too gorgeous to leave behind and I'm a sucker for pretty things!

My tablescape is a little bit rustic, a little bit romantic with - as always - a touch of the coast! I'd love to see this set this up on a little trestle table under the shade of the trees in our backyard or at a picnic table on the beach. I could while away the hours, enjoying glasses of homemade lemonade or pastel coloured bowls of ice cold gelato...it sounds like summer perfection to me...

These fluffy pink peonies inspired this simple and romantic tablescape...

Plenty of white with a deep navy blue runner keeps things elegant...

Woven coasters add natural texture...

A little serving dish filled with natural fibre decor balls and a little starfish...

Silver butterfly napkin rings add a touch of romance...

Candles are always essential, I sprinkled a few around in mason jars...

The smaller mason jar I also filled with seashells...

Capiz shell balls add a touch of coastal whimsy...

We're all set for romance or a special summer meal with friends!

Road Trippin'

In three days my husband and I are off on holiday and I can't wait to leave the 9 to 5 behind for a couple of weeks and explore some of our beautiful country! We're travelling by car so I'm in the mood for a little road trip inspiration!

There's something so exciting about loading up the car and taking off on a little adventure not knowing where the road will take you. Feet propped up on the dash, fresh air blowing your hair all over the place through open windows as you try to take photos of the passing scenery!

Whether it's a road trip with your best friends, your family or your special guy you can't beat the sense of freedom of being on the open road...

Travelling with your guy always guarantees some quality time...

Trips with the girls tend to start and end with lots of laughs!

Make sure you have the essentials close at hand...

Does anyone else try to photograph through the windows?? :)

Comfiest spot for your feet with the seat tilted right back!

Pretty roadside surprises aplenty...

A famliar view in New Zealand! Mountain ranges and endless rolling green paddocks...

Make sure you schedule stops at picturesque points in your trip...

...for those impromptu dips that are almost mandatory on a summer road trip!

Fun times with the girls...

Sea as blue as the sky...

Carefree beaching every day...

Quiet moments with your guy...

Crazy moments with your friends - this reminds me of my sister and I together, cartwheels on the sand and all!

Stunning vistas everywhere...

Park up wherever you choose...

...to catch the sunset each night...

Don't forget to try something new...

...and capture all the good times on film to look back on!

Ah, I really love looking at past road trip holiday photos, some of my most favourite times! Just three more days...do you have any fond road trip memories of your own?? Love to hear it! :)

**I'm Guest Posting today over at Between You & Me so make sure you go check it out!**
